Congratulations Fire Chief Farrens!

Mr. Mayor, I am sad to see Deputy Fire Chief Farrensgo, but like Chief Bush, I’m also proud of him and excited for his newopportunity as Fire Chief for the City of Rogers. He recently was recognizedwith an award from the Minnesota Chapter of the International Association ofArson Investigators (MNIAAI) at the annual conference March 29-31 in St Cloud.He received the President’s Jamie Novak award for his expertise and contributionsto fire investigations and education in Minnesota. 

Recently, he’s been pretty busy putting those skillsto use in Maple Grove. One high profile investigation he was part of was theLynde’s greenhouse fire last year. Lynde’s is a local business beloved by thecommunity, and his work was very important to all of us. He’s done a great jobover the last four and a half years, and I’m grateful for his service to thecity. I wish him success as the new Rogers Fire Chief. I know that he will dogreat things there and wherever his endeavors take him in the future.
